Upon meeting, we’ll traverse a moderate incline up Overlook mountain trail to the skeletal ruins of the Overlook mountain hotel. The hotel’s remains are close to the summit of Overlook Mountain, rising 3,140 feet over Woodstock, New York. Step back in time when you walk through the main hall and glance into side rooms of the former luxury hotel over lunch.
Next, our guide continues your hike to the summit and to the highest point of Overlook - the Overlook Mountain Fire Tower. Enjoy the breathtaking 360 degree views that, on clear sunny days, allows you to see as far as Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Our trail leads us to Eagles Point, offering an awesome outlook for unforgettable nature views of the Catskill Mountains and an even better outlook to spot Eagles. We’ll see the flat rock at Eagles Point, where in the 1800’s, lovers and friends would etch their names in stones. We’ll end our day trip tour at the Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and pay the golden shrine room temple a visit.
